Brief History: One of the most tragic figures that the world would ever know, a woman who's destiny would be drastically altered by the wickedness visited upon her. Unable to fight back against a priest during her year of silence before being accepted as a sister of God, she was robbed of her virtue and faith. She found it difficult to handle the disbelief and suspicion given when she told her story, and when she was punished instead for being "unwholesome," a burning hatred consumed her from within. In response to the wrongs committed upon her person, she struck back against the very structure who had sheltered and championed her transgressor from justice. Caught red-handed liberating costly items from the treasury, she was branded for her crimes and cast out into the streets to find her path elsewhere.
It wasn't long before she found a position as a governess for the Baron Sheffield, who's wife had died two years prior. Needing a firm but gentle hand with his two children, Anne de Breuil, seemed to be an answer to his prayers. Young, incredibly beautiful and still so naive as to believe in the idea of love, she found herself catapulted into a world of expensive tastes and never-ending parties. She was scarcely in service for five months, before she became the new Baroness. A happy union, but one that didn't make her heart sing. Carefully guarding her secrets, the brand was hidden from her husband throughout their marriage. A short period of time, that ended with the death of the Baron when his heart failed him. His young wife received a small sum of money and was cast out of the estate as his family took it over and the well-being of his children.
Moving to the city, the former Baroness tried to keep up appearances in the various social circles, attending every event of the season. She managed to capture quite a few young men's interest and hearts, but hers was not given to anyone save the Comte de La Fère. A man who awakened so much inside her, and made her want to disclose all of her secrets. It wasn't long before they were married, and she could take on the title of Comtesse de La Fère. Her second husband was a vast improvement over her first. Having married the first time for money, station and security. This time, she had given her heart, and the rest was merely a bonus. But sins of the past would revisit and bring her world crashing down. It would appear that her husband did not love her as much as he claimed, attempting to hang her for past crimes without waiting for an explanation.
However, he left her there, dangling on the end of a rope, without waiting around to witness the final breath. The branch that supported her struggling weight snapped, and she escaped an unjust punishment from the hands of her beloved. Heartbroken, she left behind all her dreams that day, letting them die, while the rest of her continued to live. A marked woman, it would seem impossible for her to find any other means for survival other than marrying rich men. Which worked out nicely, so long as her looks didn't fail her. And to ensure that none of them would ever be able to hurt her so completely again, she became something of a black widow. Every town was a different alias, a different husband, and more money to spend frivolously. Her talents didn't go unnoticed, and she would capture the attention of Claudia DuBois, who wasted little time in embracing her (after acquiring permission of course). After a short stint of two years, the two separated due to mild dispute.
It was another eighty years before her path crossed with the domineering Emery Blackwood. A man who recognized her potential immediately. Through threat and bribery, he claimed her expertise as his own perfect vessel to carry out "god's work." Delivering messages, spying on friends and enemies and even killing when it was deemed necessary, as the gorgeous and elusive Felony.
